Calling on Our Carver Elders (Wildcats): Help Us Remember Their Names

For many years, during each all-class reunion, it has been a treasured tradition for every graduating class to take a group photo. Today, the Dunbar-Carver Museum holds more than 30 of these photographs—each one capturing a moment in time, a memory of friendship, pride, and shared accomplishment.

But there’s something missing: the names.

As time passes, these faces—familiar to so many of you—risk becoming unknown to future generations. When our grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit the Reunion Room at the Museum, they will look at these photos and ask, Who are these people? Is that my grandmother? My great-uncle? Many of us know that feeling—looking at an old photo, knowing someone we love is in it, but unsure who they are.

You have the gift of memory. And you have the power to help us preserve these stories.

Please take a few moments to look through the class photos you recognize. If you see a familiar face, simply enter the number and name of the person you know, then click “submit.” The form will reset so you can continue adding names, one by one.

With your help, we can ensure that these photographs are more than images—they can become living history. One name at a time. One face at a time.

We thank you, and so will the generations to come.
