On Friday morning, November 22, 1963, between 7:15 and 7:45 a school bus enroute from Stanton to Carver High School in Brownsville, Tennessee was involved in a bus/truck accident. Three of the 35 students died because of this accident. Approximately five hours later at 12:30 pm the 35th president of the United States was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The details and memory of the heroic actions by the school and Haywood County citizens in response to the tragic bus accident have been lost to history as a result of the assassination of the president. Please join us in researching and documenting this important history. Â
